Taking maximum advantage of today’s turboprop technology, the TBM 960 provides high efficiency for more sustainability. Its digitally-controlled turboprop engine enables the pilot to use precise settings in flying with maximum efficiency. Daher’s recommended cruise setting for the TBM 960 lowers fuel consumption to 57 U.S. gallons per hour at a fast cruise speed of 308 kts.

THE QUINTESSENTIAL

TBM

Piloting with precision is ensured through all phases of flight, benefiting from Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PT6E-66XT advanced powerplant and the five-blade Hartzell Raptor composite propeller, both of which are associated with the fully digital Engine and Propeller Electronic Control System (EPECS). Safety also is paramount with the most advanced co*ckpit available today, including the game-changing HomeSafe™ emergency autoland system.

POWERPLANT

DIGITAL ENGINE

CONTROL

With simplified single-lever operation, the PT6E-66XT turboprop engine enables easy startup, followed by precise, predictable control and full digital envelope protection. Its other attributes are easier engine power management and parameter analysis. This reduces pilot workload by integrating all functions while protecting the engine’s life.

THE OPTIMIZED PROPELLER

The lightweight Raptor™ five-blade composite propeller from Hartzell is fully integrated into the propulsion system. It has been specifically designed to reduce overall weight and improve the TBM 960’s takeoff distance, climb and cruise speeds. Turning at 1,925 rpm during maximum power output, the Raptor contributes to limiting noise and vibration – making the TBM 960 a “smooth operator” wherever it flies.

PEACE OF MIND FOR PASSENGERS

The TBM 960’s HomeSafe™ emergency autoland function automatically brings the airplane to a runway touchdown if the pilot is incapacitated. This game-changing technology extends Daher’s innovation to a feature that specifically addresses safety from the passengers’ point of view.

BARO V NAV

The Baro-VNAV system allows precision approaches to be flown with vertical guidance (LNAV+V) at airports where Space-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) or Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) are not available. The vertical guidance is provided by barometric altitude information from the aircraft. The specified vertical path typically is computed between two waypoints, or an angle from a single way point.

TBM 960 | Turboprop Aircraft - DAHER TBM 960, TBM 910 (17)

VISUAL APPROACH

This feature provides assistance for visual approaches to non-controlled airports based on terrain and the classic 3-degree vertical path. It uses altimeter information from the aircraft’s pitot-static system and the air data computer to provide advisory vertical guidance while taking terrain and obstacle clearance into account. The procedure is designed to help pilots fly a stabilized approach. The visual approach can be activated when the aircraft is within five miles of the airport.
